National

• Urban Survivors Union : National
  • The Urban Survivor’s Union is a grassroots coalition of drug users (both former and active) dedicated to insuring respect, dignity and social justice for our community. We contest the dominant culture’s misguided attitudes and biases about drug use and drug users. USU stands for a new direction by centering our programs on putting the drug user first and foremost. We believe that efforts to advance our agenda must be guided by democratic principles, and a dedication to diversity. All USU activities are directed and carried out by drug users (former and active) in order to insure the integrity of our mission and that of the drug user’s movement.

• Next Harm Reduction : New York / National
  • Next is a mail-based harm reduction project that is working to meet the immediate needs of people who use drugs in rural and suburban communities across in the US. We spend hundreds of $$ per month shipping supplies, it’s money well spent but a funding need that foundations haven’t been excited about supporting.

Midwest

• Point to Point : Kane County, IL
  • Our mission is to provide harm reduction services for the people of Kane County. Syringes, Naloxone and safer injection supplies available free and confidentially. Point to Point is funded entirely by your generous donations. All funds help us continue to save lives!

• Southside Harm Reduction Services : Minneapolis, MN
  • Southside Harm Reduction is a mobile syringe exchange and harm reduction program. Our mission is promoting the right to health, safety, and autonomy for people who use drugs. A kit of new equipment needed for safe use costs about $3-5. A $5 donation will allow somebody to use safely for a week, possibly preventing a lifetime cost of injury or disease.

• Iowa Harm Reduction Coalition : Iowa
  • In just three years, IHRC has driven a state-wide decrease in both overdose fatalities and infectious diseases like hepatitis C, while changing policy at the state-level. We do a lot, and we do it with very little. In a world where governments do not meet the needs of their citizens or provide adequate care and support to communities, individual donors are needed to fill in the gaps and fund the services that allow vulnerable community members to survive.

• Stop Harm on Tulsa Streets : Tulsa, OK
  • (SHOTS) is Oklahoma’s ONLY harm reduction/syringe exchange program. Oklahoma has the highest incarceration rate in the world, highest rate of Hepatitis C in the nation, and Oklahoma has high rates of HIV and STIs. SHOTS goal is to bring compassionate and non-judgmental services to people who use drugs and their friends and family. All run by unpaid volunteers. None of us are paid for our positions and we are okay with that because we are passionate about our work. However, we have under 1,000 dollars left for the year. If we do not get more funds, we cannot serve our participants.

• Chicago Recovery Alliance : Chicago, IL
  • We provide a wide array of services to people who want to reduce drug-related harm in their lives and in their communities, but running these life saving services costs us money. You can help support the Chicago Recovery Alliance today by donating. No amount is too small and any amount will be put to good use by our dedicated team.

• Prevention Point Pittsburgh : Pittsburgh, PA
  • Prevention Point Pittsburgh is the only county-approved syringe exchange program in Southwestern Pennsylvania and services are absolutely unduplicated in the region. PPP is also an advocacy organization, working to improve the health and lives or people who use drugs through harm reduction.

• Trish Perry – OhioCAN-Licking/Newark Homeless Outreach : Newark, OH

  • When she isn’t distributing naloxone, clean works, hygiene supplies, and anything else folks need, Sheila has been working on taking HRO’s mock safe consumption tent to every county in Ohio. • De-escalate OH : Ohio
  • We know that the racist war on drugs and police violence are deeply connected. De-escalate OHIO is a grassroots organization being led by people directly impacted by police violence. We need your support to raise funds for an outreach campaign to elected lawmakers. We need only $1,000 to purchase the postcards and stamps!! For our goal of $1,000 we can send 3,000 postcards to our elected officials and build power for the growing movement to end police brutality! Police brutality and police murders continue to happen across our country & several of Ohio’s cities are in the TOP TEN for police murders of residents in the US.

  • Harm Reduction Ohio is a non-profit that works for the well-being of people who use or have used drugs. We support drug policies based on science, health, compassion and human rights. We provide services and support to a population too often stigmatized, criminalized and discriminated against.

Southeast

• Women With A Vision, Inc. : New Orleans, LA
  • Created by and for women of color, WWAV is a social justice non-profit that addresses issues faced by women within our community and region. Major areas of focus include Sex Worker Rights, Drug Policy Reform, HIV Positive Women’s Advocacy, and Reproductive Justice outreach.

• Central Arkansas Harm Reduction : Little Rock, AR
  • A Little Rock based organization that seeks to reduce harm faced by individuals and communities impacted by the War on Drugs in Arkansas. We formed in response to a series of opioid overdoses that occurred in the community over the course of a few short months. We began as a small delivery service for free Naloxone, and have since become an organization that also provides other harm reduction resources, supports the well-being of sex workers, and advocates for sensible drug laws.

• The Steady Collective : Asheville, NC
  • Steady distributes clean syringes, naloxone, fentanyl test kits, educational materials, and referrals to treatment upon request. Our goal is to improve overall community health by reducing the rate of drug overdose and the spread of infectious disease with education, advocacy, and direct services. • The Olive Branch Ministry :
  • We are about one mission: Extending Hope. Extending Life. Olive Branch Ministry is a faith-based harm reduction outreach organization, based in the Foothills of NC and serves 7 counties. Olive Branch partners with local human service organizations, faith communities, hospitals, mental and public health agencies, and private corporations and citizens to work with those in need of harm reduction services.

Southwest

• In Another Vein : Houston, TX
  • In Another Vein is an unincorporated network of poor and working-class people committed to helping one another lead healthy and empowered lives. Our mission is to promote the health of at-risk communities in Houston, Texas through a community-centered and evidence-based approach to harm reduction and sexual wellness.

• Dallas Harm Reduction Initiative : Dallas, TX
  • Working to provide Narcan, clean needles, fentanyl test strips, informing drug users of safe drug using practices, as well as information on options for free rehab for those wanting to get clean, and free treatment for HIV and Hepatitis C. • The Southwest Recovery Alliance : Arizona / Southwest
  • SWRA is a regional grassroots organization dedicated to the implementation of evidence based public health strategies, policy transformation, and justice reform in Arizona and throughout the Southwest.

• Shot In The Dark : Phoenix, AZ
  • Shot in the Dark (SITD) is Phoenix’s own radical harm reduction collective. After years of operating in a legal grey area and relying almost exclusively on funding from the community, Shot in the Dark exhausted all available funds in September 2019. Shot in the Dark is calling on you, our friends, family, participants, and supporters, for help in this urgent time. We badly need monthly donors at $10 a month or more to sustain our live-saving operation at its current capacity.

• Sonoran Prevention Works :
  • We utilize a harm reduction framework to educate Arizonans on overdose response, HIV and Hepatitis C prevention, and stigma. SPW provides capacity-building assistance and trainings to individuals and service organizations, including behavioral health and law enforcement. We recognize drug use as a public health concern that impacts everybody, and we utilize a framework of equity and evidence-based practices to intervene on preventable risks.

East

• Whose Corner Is It, Anyway? : Western Massachusetts
  • Whose Corner Is It Anyway is a Western MA harm reduction task force led by injection-drug-using low-income and survival sex workers who are mostly street-based, many of whom are houseless or living in unstable housing. We low-income sex workers have created a weekly community and organizing meeting for ourselves–a haven. We’ve been raising cold hard cash for a task force meeting every week, to provide a $25 stipend for 20 street workers or other low-income sex workers to attend, as well as $15 on the off weeks for attendance at the agenda-setting premeetings. Their work and leadership are valuable and deserve to be compensated.

• AIDS Project Worcester, Inc. : Worcester, MA
  • (APW) is a non-profit organization that uses advocacy, education and collaborative initiatives to enhance the lives and health of people infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C (HCV), and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

• HIPS : Washington D.C.
  • We believe that those engaged in sex work, sex trade, and drug use should be able to live healthy, self-determined, and self-sufficient lives free from stigma, violence, criminalization or oppression. We will achieve this through engaging sex workers, drug users and our communities in challenging structural barriers to health, safety, and prosperity.

• St. Ann’s Corner of Harm Reduction : South Bronx, NY

• EGYHOP : Olympia, WA
  • EGYHOP is a grassroots, all volunteer-run organization. Our street outreach workers provide emergency intervention services on the streets of Olympia seven nights a week, during hours when the street population cannot access traditional services. We attempt to supply needed and requested items, which can include: blankets, socks, sleeping bags, camping gear, warm clothing, rain gear, food, hygiene and first aid supplies (bandages, medications, vitamins, and AIDS and Hepatitis-C prevention supplies). As part of our outreach work, we aim to educate and empower the members of our community. We do this by directly providing information on survival skills and harm reduction, along with a familiar, friendly face to talk with.

• The People’s Harm Reduction Alliance : Pacific Northwest
  • PHRA is a peer-run organization that promotes the philosophy of harm reduction and safer drug use. Active users at all levels of PHRA facilitate the need-based needle distribution program, serving the Cascadia region since 2007.

• Harm Reduction Action Center : Denver, CO
  • HRAC’s funding is being CUT by the State Health Department. The Harm Reduction Action Center was alerted only two weeks ago that we will be losing 89% of our HIV prevention funding, for this upcoming year starting January 1, 2020. It is to be noted, that this loss is 25% of our organizational budget. In a time when we are serving more folks, with less resources, we are counting on our supporters to help us push forward for a healthier and safer Denver. Syringe access programs are healthcare. No judgement, just compassion.

• SF Drug Users Union : San Francisco, CA
  • SF Drug Users Union is moving! We have the opportunity to move into a beautiful new space in the Tenderloin, where we will be able to provide a full array of services by and for people who use drugs in San Francisco. We will be able to expand our small syringe access program to include a drop-in area, showers, a kitchen, a private space for testing or other clinical services, and offices for DUU staff and volunteers. However, we have no funding to support build-out and set-up of the new space. We created this Registry so that our supporters could help us fill the new space, make it beautiful, welcoming and functional.

• Homeless Youth Alliance : San Francisco, CA
  • HYA exists to meet youth experiencing homelessness where they are, and to help them build healthier lives. We believe that reducing harm is possible through the provision of accessible, non-judgmental outreach, one-on-one counseling, and medical and mental health care, as well as creative and educational workshops, syringe access and disposal, and accurate up-to-date referrals and information. We strive to empower young homeless people to protect themselves, educate each other, reduce harm within the community, and when they are ready transition off the streets.

• The Gubbio Project : San Francisco, CA
  • Our mission is to be in community with and to provide a sacred space and sanctuary for unhoused people in need of safe, compassionate respite during the day. Lack of sleep is one of the most critical health issues for the homeless. An average of 225 unhoused neighbors seek safety and rest on the pews in the sanctuary of St. Boniface church each weekday starting at 6 AM. No questions are asked when our guests walk into the churches. No one is ever turned away; all are welcomed, respected and treated with dignity.

• 37MLK : Oakland, CA
  • An all Black and Latinx unsheltered community/ coalition of houseless and precariously housed ppl on our block who built and maintain a village of 21. Our budget is literally zero outside of the personal paychecks of a few of us able to work, so literally anything makes an enormous difference in the lives of our little autonomous zone that insists on dignity and love for those living with addiction and other sequelae of structural oppression. • Berkeley NEED : Berkeley, CA
  • Based in Berkeley, California, NEED is unique among syringe services programs because we are a volunteer-based collective. We started in September 1990 by a group of HIV+ persons, people in recovery, and health activists as an underground program operating out of a baby carriage on the corner of Hearst and San Pablo Avenues in Berkeley. Currently, we operate from a black van with our logo and title written on the side at three neighborhoods sites each week. We offer free, anonymous services in a client-centered manner, and we are dedicated to the prevention of infectious diseases and to improving the physical, spiritual, and political health of drug users.

Canada

• Migrant Sex Workers Project : Canada
  • A grassroots group of migrants, sex workers, and allies who demand safety and dignity for all sex workers regardless of immigration status. We are creating tools that migrant sex workers use to protect themselves against human rights violations, educating the public about the dangers of anti-trafficking and advocating to change policies that hurt and exploit migrants in the sex trade.

• Toronto Overdose Prevention Society : Toronto, Canada
  • The Toronto Overdose Prevention Society fund will support Overdose Action Toronto and its efforts to draw attention to the escalating overdose epidemic that is killing our beloved Torontonians. Overdose Action Toronto consists of key stakeholders in harm reduction including people who use drugs, peers, frontline harm reduction workers and advocates. This fund will also support direct actions aimed at increasing awareness among citizens of Toronto about the preventable nature of overdose deaths. This fund also will support work of the Toronto Harm Reduction Alliance and Toronto Harm Reduction Worker’s Union, as well as Overdose Action Toronto.
